Incoming Mayor of New York City Eric Adams directly rebuked threats from Black Lives Matter and other organizations during a speech Thursday night; saying “anarchists” have no place in the Big Apple.
“We’re not going to surrender to those who are saying ‘We’re going to burn down New York’,” Adams said.
The local Black Lives Matter chapter threatened “blood” in the streets if Adams brought-back an elite unit inside the NYPD specifically charged with fighting violent crime.

“We’re not going to have a city where anarchists come from outside our city and go into a community such as Queens and destroy the community for their own selfish needs and desires,” Adams added.
“I burn candles and say prayers and Hail Marys that those other characters were not elected to be mayor right now,” Adams said. “People who were talking about disarming police, running out business people from our city.”

AOC FAILS: Former NYPD Captain Eric Adams Wins NYC Mayoral Primary, Defeats Far-Left Candidates
Former NYPD Captain and Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams was declared the winner of the NYC Mayoral Primary Tuesday night; defeating far-left candidates including Ocasio-Cortez-backed progressive Maya Wiley.
“Adams — who if elected would only be the second Black mayor of the Big Apple — beat out presidential hopeful turned-mayoral candidate Andrew Yang, Maya Wiley, who was endorsed by New York Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and top contender Kathryn Garcia. The Associated Press declared Adams the winner early Tuesday evening based on the latest tabulations, which included most absentee ballots,” reports Fox News.
“We’re not going to recover as a city if we turn back time and see an increase in violence, particularly gun violence,” Adams said following the May shooting of three people, including a 4-year-old girl, in Times Square.

“New York BLM co-founder Hawk Newsome debated the plan for a return to tougher policing with Adams during a contentious sit-down at Brooklyn Borough Hall Wednesday that was livestreamed on Instagram,” reports the New York Post.
“Although Adams found common ground with the activists on plans to fight poverty in the black community, the former NYPD captain said he’ll be reinstating a revamped version of the undercover anti-crime unit that was disbanded at the height of widespread police protests last year,” adds the newspaper.
