The prosecutor who once bragged she’d make Trump “know her name” may soon find her own name in the headlines for all the wrong reasons.
CNN anchor Anderson Cooper took a jab at newly indicted New York Attorney General Letitia James on Thursday, saying her past comments about targeting Donald Trump were “not a great look” — even as James now claims the charges against her are “political retribution.”
Cooper reminded viewers of James’ 2018 conversation with a community activist who asked if she was ready to sue then-President Trump the day after she was elected attorney general.
“And she replied, ‘Oh we’re gonna definitely sue him, we’re gonna be a real pain in the ass, he’s gonna know my name personally,’” Cooper told his panel.
“I mean that’s not a great look for somebody who has just been elected, who’s just been campaigning, who hasn’t even looked, I guess deeply, at any evidence.”
James went on to sue the Trump Organization, alleging the company inflated property values — a case that led to a major judgment against Trump and hundreds of millions of dollars in fines.

James was federally indicted on charges of bank fraud in Virginia on Thursday. She has denied wrongdoing as she and her allies claim the prosecution is pure politics.
