NO BLINKEN CLUE: Sec of State Dodges on Whether US Equipment in Afghanistan Will Be Destroyed

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.14.21

Secretary of State Antony Blinken refused to comment this week on why the Biden administration won’t destroy high-profile US equipment in Afghanistan, telling lawmakers to ask the Department of Defense.

“Heavy equipment, the tanks, the helicopters, all this is GPS tracked. We can identify this. Why did we not destroy it, or don’t destroy it now?” asked one lawmaker.

“I know my colleagues from the Defense Department will have an opportunity to speak to Congress, they’re the experts on this,” deflected Blinken.

“We know the location of this equipment, are we going to destroy it or not?” pressed the legislator.

“Much of this equipment is either inoperable or will soon be inoperable because they can’t be maintained,” claimed the Secretary of State.

National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan made similar comments after the fall of Kabul in late August.

“We don’t have a complete picture, obviously, of where every article of defense materials has gone,” the Biden adviser said. “But certainly, a fair amount of it has fallen into the hands of the Taliban, and, obviously, we don’t have a sense that they are going to readily hand it over to us at the airport.”

“The president did not think it was inevitable that the Taliban were going to take control of Afghanistan,” Sullivan said. “He thought the Afghan national security forces could step up and fight because we spent 20 years, tens of billions of dollars, training them, giving them the best equipment, giving them support of U.S. forces for 20 years.”

“When push came to shove, they decided not to step up and fight for their country,” Sullivan concluded.

BLINKEN: The Taliban Has ‘Assured People in Afghanistan’ They Can Leave After August 31st

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.30.21

Secretary of State Antony Blinken doubled-down on the Biden administration’s reliance on the Taliban over the weekend; saying a senior member of the group has “assured” people they can leave Afghanistan after the US military departs on August 31st.

“Just yesterday, a very senior Taliban official went on television and radio across the country and repeatedly assured people in Afghanistan they will have freedom to travel after August 31st,” said Blinken.

“We don’t take the Taliban at their word, we take them by their deed,” he added. “

Blinken’s comments days after Press Secretary Jen Psaki admitted the United States could not “guarantee” safe passage going forward.

“After August 31st, for people still on the ground in Afghanistan who want to get out, does the US right now have a vision of a process that they will use to get them out after August 31st . What’s the commitment? Is it absolute? If you want to get out… Is the US guaranteeing you will be able to get out?” asked one reporter.

“I don’t think we can guarantee,” said Psaki.

NO BLINKEN CLUE: Sec of State Shocked the Taliban Won’t Allow Charter Flights Out of Afghanistan

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.08.21

Secretary of State Antony Blinken was surprised to learn this week that the Taliban -now led by 9/11 terrorist supporters- are refusing to allow charter flights to depart Kabul’s International Airport.

“As of now, the Taliban are not permitting the charter flights to depart. They claim some passengers do not have the required documentation,” said Blinken. “There are limits to what we can do without personnel on the ground.”

“We are working to do everything within our power to support those flights and to get them off the ground,” he added.

The State Department Boss made very different comments just days ago.

“Just yesterday, a very senior Taliban official went on television and radio across the country and repeatedly assured people in Afghanistan they will have freedom to travel after August 31st,” said Blinken on August 30th.

“We don’t take the Taliban at their word, we take them by their deed,” he added. “
