A group of left-leaning Democratic Representatives moved this week to block Nancy Pelosi from becoming the Speaker of the House; revealing the existence of a mysterious “letter” signed by at least 17 legislators who pledged to vote against the party leader.
“Fox News has confirmed at least 17 House Democrats, including incumbents and incoming members, have signed on to a document saying they will not support Pelosi on the House floor for speaker. A Democrat familiar with the effort says they are trying to add more names before the letter is publicly released,” writes Fox.
If the numbers hold and vote against Pelosi on the House floor, she would fail to secure enough support to regain the gavel when Democrats retake control in January.
“After we, as Democrats, make our selection, our new members should not be pressured into voting against our party’s nominee on the House floor in January — when the choice will be between the Democratic candidate and the Republican candidate,” said leading Rep. Elijah Cummings. “That will only play into the hands of House Republicans and President Trump.”

CRINGE WORTHY: Ocasio-Cortez Offers INCOHERENT DEFENSE of Nancy Pelosi
Socialist superstar Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez froze when asked about the future leadership of the Democratic Party this week; stuttering through a series of incoherent sentences when pressed on Pelosi’s political ambitions.
Cortez was speaking with CNN when she desperately tried to deflect questions on whether she’d back House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House should Democrats retake control of Congress this fall.
“I think absolutely right now.. She is the leader of..no no, um, she is speaker..or rather leader Pelosi..hopefully we’ll see..she’s ah..she’s the current leader of the party and..the party absolutely does have its leadership in the House and Senate,” said Cortez.

DEMOCRAT CHAOS: Top Democrat RIPS Pelosi’s ‘WHITE GUYS’ Comment
Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi raised eyebrows within her own party on Thursday, drawing fire from top Democrats after she “offensively” referred to the bipartisan group of legislators tackling immigration reform as “white guys.”
The House Minority Leader made her incendiary remarks while speaking with reporters at her weekly press briefing, labeling lawmakers seeking to find a permanent solution to DACA as “the five white guys.”
“The five white guys I call them, you know,” Pelosi quipped, complaining that there were not enough minorities involved in the immigration debate. “Are they going to open a hamburger stand next or what?”
Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer –one of Pelosi’s “white guys”- blasted the leader’s comments, calling the remarks “offensive” in a statement released to Politico.
“That comment is offensive. I am committed to ensuring DREAMers are protected and I will welcome everyone to the table who wants to get this done,” Hoyer said.
A spokesperson for the House Minority Leader pushed back against Hoyer’s comments, saying, “Leader Pelosi has every confidence in the leadership of Whip Hoyer and Senator Durbin, which they have demonstrated on this topic for years.”
