Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi seemingly swiped at Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in a new interview published this week; saying the new crop of Democrats need to get off social media and start passing meaningful legislation.
“While there are people who have a large number of Twitter followers, what’s important is that we have large numbers of votes on the floor of the House,” Pelosi told USA Today.
“As I say to my own district, ‘You go out and elect 218 people, just like San Francisco, then we can talk,’” she added.
Pelosi has struggled to control her liberal colleagues since taking control last January; referring to Ocasio-Cortez’ ‘Green New Deal’ as the ‘Green Dream.’
“The green dream, or whatever they call it, nobody knows what it is, but they’re for it, right?” said the Speaker earlier this year.

CORTEZ CONFUSION: Ocasio-Cortez Says Capitol Staffers Think She’s an ‘INTERN’
Incoming Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made a lasting impression in her first few days on Capitol Hill; taking part in an unscheduled climate protest outside Nancy Pelosi’s office and being mistaken as an “intern” by staffers.
The self-described Democratic-Socialist left New York City for the nation’s capital this week, where the youngest Congresswoman in US history complained of her public misconception.
“People keep giving me directions to the spouse and intern events instead of the ones for members of Congress,” she posted on social media.

Cortez made national headlines after her surprise victory over a long-serving Democratic Congressman; bizarrely calling Israelis the “occupiers” of Palestine and saying the government should “just pay for” socialized medicine and free college tuition.
FIREWORKS: Lindsey Graham TORCHES Ocasio-Cortez’ Doomsday Prediction
Sen. Lindsey Graham roasted Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’ ‘doomsday prediction’ after she attacked the GOP lawmaker on social media Thursday; saying he hopes the two could “bury the hatchet” since they only have 12 years left to live.
Cortez initially slammed Graham’s recent comments regarding Nancy Pelosi’s refusal to invite the President to deliver his State of the Union address; posting “According to @LindseyGrahamSC, the President failing to condemn neo-nazis, forcing thousands of federal workers to go to food pantries,& risking all their credit scores is whatever, but not letting the President march down the House Floor until we pay people first is ‘a new low.’”
Let’s bury the hatchet and enjoy the next 12 years because they are going to be our last, right? https://t.co/OKhAAcGKyr

“Let’s bury the hatchet and enjoy the next 12 years because they are going to be our last, right?” fired-back Graham.
