House Minority Leader and likely Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi dug in on her party’s opposition to funding President Trump’s border wall Thursday; saying the issue was a “non-starter” heading into future negotiations.
Pelosi was speaking with reporters during her weekly press briefing when she was asked to comment on the Commander-in-Chief’s insistence of including border security in any budget agreement.
“Is there any situation you think Democrats could support beyond a clean continuing resolution?” asked one reporter.
“It depends what they have to say, but not wall funding. I think we’ve made that clear, wasn’t that clear? We will see what they come up with in terms of disaster assistance,” Pelosi said. “We will see, but in terms of wall funding, that is a non-starter and I think they know that.”
ARMAGEDDON AGAIN? Pelosi Warns Government Could be ‘CLOSED FOREVER’ Over Budget Fight
Likely Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi escalated her war-of-words with the Trump administration Thursday; saying the government could be “closed forever” because of her opposition to the President’s border wall.
Pelosi was speaking with reporters during her weekly press conference at the Capitol when she was asked if she planned to cave to the President’s security demands.

“Let’s hope there won’t be a shutdown of the government. That’s a very bad thing to do, maybe the President doesn’t grasp that. That is very harmful to our country at significant cost,” said Pelosi.
“They still voted against opening up the government [the last time.] Does he want to have government closed forever? What’s this about? I know he doesn’t believe in government,” she added.
CANDID CAMERA: Pelosi Tells Trump He ‘WILL NOT WIN’ on Border Wall
House Minority Leader and potential Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi escalated her all-out war with the White House Tuesday; saying President Trump simply “will not win” in his efforts to secure funding for his border wall.
Pelosi was speaking with President Trump, Chuck Schumer, and Mike Pence inside the Oval Office where she flat-out refused to make a deal with congressional Republicans on a federal budget.

“Let me ask you this: It doesn’t help for me to take a vote for this in the House where I will win easily with the help of the Republicans. It doesn’t help to take that vote because I’m not going to get the vote in the Senate,” said Trump.
“You will not win,” fired-back Pelosi.
