MUST WATCH: Hawley Asks Zuckerberg to Apologize to Families Impacted by Child Exploitation —and He Does

posted by Hannity Staff - 1.31.24

During a special Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on “Big Tech and the Online Child Sexual Exploitation Crisis” on Wednesday, Missouri Senator Josh Hawley went after Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg for failing to take any action against victims of child sex abuse as a result of the predatory nature of his social media platforms.

“So you didn’t take any action. You didn’t fire anybody. You haven’t compensated a single victim. Let me ask you this: there are families of victims here today. Have you apologized to the victims? They’re here. You’re on national television. Would you like to apologize for what you’ve done to these good people?” Hawley asked the Meta CEO.

And then, Zuckerberg stood up, turned to the families, and apologized.

“I’m sorry for everything you’ve all gone through. Nobody should have to go through what your families have suffered. This is why we have invested so much and are going to continue industry-leading efforts to make sure that no one has to go through the types of things your families have suffered,” Zuckerberg told the families, many of whom were holding up pictures of children.
