Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene showed up in New York, as promised, to support former President and 2024 candidate Donald Trump at his arraignment at a Manhattan courthouse on Tuesday.
MTG joined the Pro-Trump rally, but also made time for a quick interview —in the backseat of a car —where she compared Trump to both Jesus and Nelson Mandela.
From The New York Post:
Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) defended Donald Trump as innocent in a backseat car interview outside the courthouse where the former president will be arraigned Tuesday — comparing him to Nelson Mandela and Jesus, men who were arrested for their political beliefs.
After her big speech was drowned out by anti-Trump protesters in Lower Manhattan on Tuesday morning, the congresswoman took refuge inside her car and gave interviews with members of the media.
Speaking on the former president’s impending arraignment, she said: “Trump is joining some of the most incredible people in history being arrested today. Nelson Mandela was arrested, served time in prison. Jesus! Jesus was arrested and murdered by the Roman government.
