Another spending bill released in the middle of the night…
According to a Politico report, the final six-bill, $1.2 trillion, 1,012-page federal spending bill for fiscal 2024 was released shortly before 3 a.m. Thursday morning. Parts of the government will shut down if the bill is not passed by Friday at midnight.
The bill is Speaker Mike Johnson’s first big bipartisan negotiation during his five months as Speaker.
Peach State Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R) reacted to the bill on X, blasting how little time Reps had for review and calling out multiple instances of “Green New Deal Garbage.”

“The minibus was released at 2:32 am and is 1,012 pages of $1.2 trillion taxpayer dollars,” MTG says.
“And we are supposed to be voting on it tomorrow morning under suspension with no amendments allowed with the super scary government shutdown deadline threat looming tomorrow at midnight.”
“It takes 27.8 hours for the average reader to read 1,000 pages. I guess we are supposed to just pass it first and then find out what’s in it like Nancy Pelosi says.”
“This comes after months and months of hardly any effort to pass single-issue appropriation bills while 3 Continuing Resolutions (continuing Pelosi’s budget) were passed.”

The House is expected to vote on the bill tomorrow.
