President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to what remains of Iran’s government Thursday, declaring that the United States will accept nothing short of “unconditional surrender” from the regime as the war between Washington and Tehran intensifies.
Trump delivered the ultimatum in a post on TRUTH Social, signaling that negotiations with Iran would only begin after the country capitulates.
“There will be no deal with Iran except UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!” Trump wrote.
The president said that once Iran surrenders and a new leadership structure is in place, the United States and its allies would help rebuild the country’s economy.
“After that, and the selection of a GREAT & ACCEPTABLE Leader(s), we, and many of our wonderful and very brave allies and partners, will work tirelessly to bring Iran back from the brink of destruction, making it economically bigger, better, and stronger than ever before,” Trump wrote.
Trump also invoked a slogan modeled on his own political rallying cry, suggesting a future in which Iran could rebound economically following the conflict.
“IRAN WILL HAVE A GREAT FUTURE. ‘MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN (MIGA!).’ Thank you for your attention to this matter!” he wrote.
The comments come as the United States and Israel continue their joint military campaign against Iran, which the Pentagon has dubbed Operation Epic Fury, targeting the country’s military infrastructure, missile systems and leadership network.
