MIDDLE EAST ON EDGE: U.S. Forces Blast Iranian Missiles Out Of Sky Over Kuwait

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.01.26

Iran tested the fragile ceasefire once again Sunday night, launching two ballistic missiles toward American forces stationed in Kuwait before U.S. defenses knocked both threats out of the sky.

U.S. Central Command announced Monday that American forces successfully intercepted the incoming missiles and that no U.S. personnel were injured.

“Last night at 11 p.m. ET, U.S. forces successfully intercepted two Iranian ballistic missiles targeting American forces based in Kuwait. These missiles were immediately defeated and no American personnel were harmed,” CENTCOM said in a statement posted to X.

The military command added that it remains prepared to defend U.S. troops throughout the region.

“U.S. Central Command remains vigilant and will continue to protect our forces from Iranian aggression while supporting the ongoing ceasefire.”

The attack comes despite ongoing efforts to maintain a ceasefire following months of conflict between the United States and Iran.

Kuwait also found itself directly under threat.

The Gulf nation’s air defenses reportedly intercepted multiple missiles and drones over the weekend as air raid sirens echoed across parts of the country. Kuwaiti officials responded with a blistering condemnation of Tehran’s actions, accusing Iran of threatening regional stability and civilian lives.

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterates the State of Kuwait’s condemnation and denunciation, in the strongest terms, of the heinous and repeated Iranian attacks,” the ministry said Monday.

Officials described the attacks as a “dangerous escalation” and a “direct assault” on Kuwait’s security and sovereignty.

Hannity’s Highlights

Iran fired two ballistic missiles at U.S. forces in Kuwait Sunday night — American defenses intercepted both and CENTCOM confirmed no U.S. personnel were harmed.

The attack came despite an active ceasefire — CENTCOM said it “remains vigilant” and will continue protecting U.S. troops from Iranian aggression while supporting ongoing diplomatic efforts.

Kuwait was also targeted — and is furious — air raid sirens sounded across the country as Kuwaiti air defenses intercepted additional missiles and drones over the weekend.

Kuwait called it a direct assault on its sovereignty — the foreign ministry condemned the strikes as a “dangerous escalation” violating international law and U.N. Security Council Resolution 2817, and warned it reserves the right to defend itself.

The statement further argued that the strikes violated international law, the United Nations Charter and U.N. Security Council Resolution 2817 of 2026.

Kuwait warned that continued attacks could jeopardize efforts to reduce tensions across the region and pledged to defend itself if necessary.

“The Ministry also affirms the State of Kuwait’s reservation of its full right to take whatever measures are necessary to preserve its security and defend its territories,” officials said.
