Embattled Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez ranted against President Trump’s “racist” border wall Wednesday; saying a physical barrier between the US and Mexico is based on “non-evidence” that “immigrants are dangerous.”
“The entire PREMISE of a wall is not based in fact. It’s based in a racist + non-evidence based trope that immigrants are dangerous. Yet some Dems are willing to ‘compromise’ & spend BILLIONS on a trope because we’ve accepted some kinds of racism as realpolitik in America,” tweeted Cortez.
None of this is “whataboutism.” Racism and bigotry of all forms is inextricably linked.
When you don’t address them as a system and attempt to pick them apart as though they are distinct and separable issues, eventually the thing that gets advanced is white supremacy + classism.

Cortez’ comments come just hours after she defended Rep. Ilhan Omar’s vicious anti-Israeli statements; urging House Democrats to abandon their public condemnation of the lawmaker’s anti-Semitic remarks.
AOC EXPLODES: Cortez Says She ‘Doesn’t Care Anymore’, Screams ‘I’m the Boss’ on Climate Change
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez continued to deflect criticism of her ‘Green New Deal’ over the weekend; repeatedly yelling “I’m the boss” when it comes to climate-change policy and future legislation.
“You know what? I don’t care anymore. Again, I’m at least trying and they’re not. The power is in the person who’s trying regardless of the success. If you’re trying you’ve got all the power,” claimed Cortez.

“I just introduced ‘Green New Deal’ two weeks ago and it’s creating all of this conversation. Why? Because no one else has even tried… You try, you do it. Because you’re not. Until you do it, I’m the boss. How about that?” she yelled.
AOC VS AMAZON: Cortez Says Amazon Can Return to NYC if they ‘Consult’ Local Communities
Embattled Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez opened the door for Amazon to return to the Big Apple this week; saying the technology giant must “consult” local communities that would be impacted by the new headquarters.
“One of the most concerning aspects in what happened with the deal previously is you have all of these folks in Long Island City, in Sunnyside, in Woodside and all the way out to Jackson Heights, that will be impacted by this and they were not consulted,” said Cortez at her New York City office Monday.
“What [Ocasio-Cortez] was vocal about was the process by which it happened,” her Chief of Staff told Bloomberg TV. “The deal was sort of sprung on the community without any input and there’s a real cost whenever tech companies come in without community input, rents go up, people get evicted, there’s an actual human cost that is associated with Amazon coming in.”
Cortez found herself in hot-water among New Yorkers after her fiery rhetoric and fierce opposition forced Amazon to abandon their plans to relocate to the Big Apple; effectively killing 25,000 new jobs and upwards of $27 billion in tax revenue.
