A new poll published this week by Gallup shows fewer Americans trust the mainstream media for unbiased and accurate information, particularly Republican voters and conservatives across the country.
“Americans remain largely mistrustful of the mass media as 41% currently have ‘a great deal’ or ‘fair amount’ of trust in newspapers, television and radio to report the news ‘fully, accurately and fairly.’ This latest reading represents a four-percentage-point dip since last year and marks the end of improvements in back-to-back years after hitting an all-time low,” says the survey.
“Gallup first measured trust in the mass media in a 1972 survey when 68% of Americans said they trusted it. Similar levels were recorded in 1974 (69%) and 1976 (72%), but two decades later, when Gallup next asked the question, trust had fallen to 53%,” writes Gallup.
“Republicans became increasingly mistrustful of the media in 2016 when Trump was campaigning for president and was sharply critical of the media’s coverage of him. Between 2015 and 2016, Republican trust in the mass media fell 18 points to its historical low of 14%, where it remained in 2017. Following a seven-point boost last year, it has returned to 15%. For their part, Democrats have consistently been more trusting of the media than Republicans but rallied around the press and became even more trusting when Trump took office in 2017,” adds the report.

HANNITY: Trump-Ukraine Transcript Reveals No Misconduct Whatsoever
Speaking during his opening monologue on ‘Hannity’ Wednesday night, Sean weighed-in on the Democrats’ latest impeachment push; saying the recently released transcript of President Trump’s phone call revealed “no misconduct whatsoever.”
“The Democratic Party, the media mob, they want to impeach the President of the United States over a big, huge, pile of nothing. This is even weaker than the Russia witch hunt. After days of psychotic hysteria about a phone call… the raging Democrats announced impeachment with no knowledge,” said Hannity.
“The transcript has been released… No quid pro quo, no discussion of US Aid, no misconduct at all whatsoever, nothing,” he added.
The White House released the entire transcript of the President’s private phone conversation with the leader of Ukraine Wednesday; ending days of speculation as more Democrats call for his impeachment.
“Congratulations on a great victory. We all watched from the United States and you did a terrific job. The way you came from behind, -somebody who wasn’t given much of a chance, and you ended up winning easily. It’s a fantastic achievement. Congratulations,” Trump said at the beginning of the conversation.
“You are absolutely right Mr. President. We did win big and we worked hard for _his. We worked a lot but I would like to confess to you that I had an opportunity to learn from you. We used quite a few of your skills· and knowledge and were able to use it as an example for our elections, it is true that these were unique elections,” said Ukrainian President Zelensky.
“The other thing, There’s a lot of talk about Biden’s son,. that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great. Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you can look into it… It sounds horrible to me,” Trump added.
