Still don’t want Trump’s help?
According to a CBS News report, at least 30 people were shot over the weekend in Chicago, with five fatalities — the latest victim killed early Monday morning.
Police said the fifth shooting death happened around 3 a.m. “in the 3900 block of South Archer Avenue.” A 33-year-old man got into an argument with another man, who pulled a gun and shot him twice. The victim was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Chicago continues to face soaring gun violence despite some of the strictest firearm laws in the country. Illinois bans so-called “assault weapons” and “high-capacity” magazines, enforces a 72-hour waiting period on gun purchases, and requires residents to obtain a Firearm Owner’s Identification (FOID) card before possessing a firearm.
Chicago and Cook County also have their own bans on “assault weapons” and “high-capacity” magazines — layered atop the state’s red flag law and restrictions on carrying guns on public transit.
Meanwhile, instead of combating the violence, Mayor Brandon Johnson is busy creating ICE-free zones that ban ICE agents from city property.

This is SICK. He is aiding and abetting criminal illegal immigrant killers, rapists, traffickers, and gang bangers. pic.twitter.com/LaMbxaqePP
