While taking questions from the press on Wednesday, Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell froze while discussing a potential re-election bid in 2026.

“What am I talking about, what…?” McConnell said.

“Running for re-election in 2026,” a reporter off camera reiterates.

At this point, a McConnell aide steps in to confirm he has heard the question and then asks for a minute.

This isn’t the first time McConnell has gone silent in front of reporters. Earlier this month, he froze up during a presser on the Hill, inviting the media to question the state of his health.
