According to a report from The Daily Wire, 25-year-old GOP candidate Karoline Leavitt, who worked in former President Donald Trump’s press shop and then for Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), won her primary for New Hampshire’s First Congressional District Tuesday night.
If Leavitt wins in November, she’ll be the youngest woman ever elected to Congress.
“It feels like the honor of a lifetime,” the young politico told NH Journal after her win. “I’m so humbled, I’m at a loss for words over the outpouring of support from conservatives, from every community.”
“When we got into this a year ago, nobody knew who I was,” Leavitt said. “I had no money in the campaign account. I just had a drive and a work ethic and a passion to fight for this state and that is paid off over the last year.”
Former President Donald Trump congratulated Leavitt on TRUTH Social.
“Amazing job by Karoline Leavitt in her great New Hampshire victory. Against all odds, she did it – and will have an even greater victory on November 8th. Wonderful energy and wisdom!!!”
During her victory speech, Leavitt sounded confident she’d defeat her opponent Chris Pappas.
“Tonight, we made history,” she told supporters. “And I look forward to serving as the youngest congresswoman in United States history when we beat Chris Pappas.”
“As many of you know, my youth is one of the many reasons that I felt compelled to run for Congress in the first place,” she continued. “Because it’s my generation of Americans — your children, your grandchildren — who are not being served well by the current state of our education system, our media and our entire culture.”
