Worldwide retailer Amazon quietly changed a new icon on their phones this week after users on social media complained the image resembled Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler.
“Amazon has changed its new smartphone app logo after critics said the earlier incarnation was a dead ringer for Adolf Hitler,” reports the New York Post.
“Amazon first rolled out an update to the app’s icon in January, according to reporting from The Verge. The icon featured Amazon’s signature smiling arrow, but a jagged row of tape atop it made some users think of the Nazi dictator,” adds Business Insider.
Amazon has evidently made a slight adjustment to its app icon.
The cardboard box featured the iconic Amazon smile, but directly above that was a jagged piece of blue tape that evoked references to Adolf Hitler’s distinct mustache.

DR SEUSS NEXT: Six Books Will No Longer Be Published for ‘Racist Images and Stereotypes’
At least six books written by Dr. Seuss -including ‘If I Ran the Zoo’ and others- will no longer be published due to “racist and insensitive imagery” going forward.
“These books portray people in ways that are hurtful and wrong,” Dr. Seuss Enterprises told The Associated Press
“Ceasing sales of these books is only part of our commitment and our broader plan to ensure Dr. Seuss Enterprises’ catalog represents and supports all communities and families,” it said.
“Dr. Seuss Enterprises listened and took feedback from our audiences including teachers, academics and specialists in the field as part of our review process. We then worked with a panel of experts, including educators, to review our catalog of titles,” adds the statement.

McCARTHY on DEMS: ‘First They Outlaw Dr. Seuss and Now They Want to Tell Us What to Say’
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy ripped his Democratic colleagues Tuesday during a fiery address; saying far-left lawmakers want to “outlaw Dr. Seuss” and tell Americans what they can and cannot say.
“Under the Constitution, we generally defer to states and counties to run elections. Democrats want to change that. First, they outlaw Dr. Seuss and now they want to tell us what to say,” said McCarthy.
