Left-wing activists gathered outside the office of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell Monday to promote the ‘Green New Deal,’ launching the bizarre demonstration despite the GOP lawmaker’s push to call a full Senate vote on the proposal.
Hundreds of activists with the so-called ‘Sunrise Movement’ abruptly appeared outside McConnell’s office inside the US Capitol, though it remains unclear the intentions behind the demonstration.

The protest comes just days after McConnell said he planned to call a full vote on the ‘Green New Deal,’ sparking outrage from Sen. Chuck Schumer and others who accused the GOP of attempting to “kill” the legislation.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez continued to deflect criticism of her ‘Green New Deal’ over the weekend; repeatedly yelling “I’m the boss” when it comes to climate-change policy and future legislation.
“You know what? I don’t care anymore. Again, I’m at least trying and they’re not. The power is in the person who’s trying regardless of the success. If you’re trying you’ve got all the power,” claimed Cortez.

“I just introduced ‘Green New Deal’ two weeks ago and it’s creating all of this conversation. Why? Because no one else has even tried… You try, you do it. Because you’re not. Until you do it, I’m the boss. How about that?” she yelled.

Socialist superstar Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez issued a dire prediction to her fellow legislators this week; warning the United States has just “10 years left” to pass new laws that could avert a “cataclysmic climate disaster.”
The future Congresswoman posted the threat on social media, writing “We have 10 years left to plan and implement a Green New Deal before cataclysmic climate disaster. Reinstating the Select Committee is exactly what we need to do.”

Cortez’ comments come on the heels of her first full week at the US Capitol, where the youngest Congresswoman in US history claimed staffers repeatedly mistook her for an “intern” or “spouse.”
