Longtime Clinton insider John Podesta joined the bipartisan anti-Comey bandwagon this week, slamming the former FBI director as a complete “idiot” in his handling of Hillary’s botched email investigation.
Podesta was speaking with CNN when he unloaded on the former bureau boss, saying Comey was “throwing shade on everybody, but expecting very little responsibility for himself.”
“I’ve never attacked Mr. Comey for trying to do something that was for a partisan reason,” Podesta said. “I think it was to some extent his arrogance that led him to make a very bad error of judgment … I guess I can agree with him that he’s an honest idiot, but I thought he was an idiot in the context of this election, and that it was influential in the outcome.”

OUCH: Reporter GRILLS John Podesta Over Clinton’s ‘PURPLE STATE’ Disaster
CBS News anchor Nancy Cordes grilled former Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta on Sunday over his candidate’s disastrous 2016 run for the White House; asking the Hilary insider why Russian operatives knew to target Michigan and Wisconsin but her campaign didn’t.
“We don’t know whether or not this operation swayed the election,” said Cordes. “How is it that these Russian operatives knew to focus on purple states like Michigan and Wisconsin and your campaign didn’t?”
“Of course, we spent a lot of time and energy and effort in all those states,” deflected Podesta.
“Hillary Clinton herself did not spend much time in those states,” pressed the CBS reporter.
“We had Tim Kaine there, Barack Obama was in,” fired-back the former chairman.
Podesta’s comments come as special counsel Robert Mueller’s office indicted 13 Russians and three foreign “entities” for meddling in the 2016 election; buying upwards of $2 million in advertisements on social media and hosting political rallies for both Clinton and the Trump campaigns.

MUELLER'S MISSION: Russia Probe Turns Towards Clinton Insiders, Key Aides
Special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election took an unexpected turn this week; re-focusing on senior Clinton associates and top democratic lobbying firms as the probe seeks to uncover the extent of Russian meddling ahead of election day.
According to Fox News, Tony Podesta –a democratic lobbying powerhouse and brother of senior Clinton aide John Podesta- is under investigation by the special counsel’s office; demanding answers over whether his firm violated federal law throughout the election cycle.
The Podesta Group had alleged ties to Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, and is now part of the criminal probe to determine if the organization violated the Foreign Agents Registration Act that requires individuals to register if working on behalf of a foreign government or foreign officials.
“[The firm] is cooperating fully with the Special Counsel’s office and has taken every possible step to provide documentation that confirms timely compliance,” said a written statement.
“In all of our client engagements, the Podesta Group conducts due diligence and consults with appropriate legal experts to ensure compliance with disclosure regulations at all times — and we did so in this case,” added the statement.
