Former Vice President Kamala Harris raised eyebrows on Monday after a clip of her reacting to the Los Angeles wildfires went viral on X; word salad was served.
“What goes through your mind when you see this? You’re here, and you’re now seeing it up close,” one reporter asked the failed presidential candidate.
“It’s not only seeing it … you can smell it. You can feel it, right? It’s seeing it with our eyes — and many people are seeing it and you all are covering it — but to literally be on the gound here, you can smell, um the, the, the, the, the, smoke that was here. You can feel the, the toxicity, frankly, of the environment. You can feel the energy of all od the folks that are still here on the ground,” Harris said.

As we think about the future, we must, as a society, as a country, invest in adaptation and resilience, and we have to understand these extreme weather occurrences are extreme, but they are increasingly less rare,” Harri also said.

Harris was blasted for the rambling answer on X.
Can you believe this woman almost became our President?

One user called out Harris’ language, saying it could be foreshadowing the weaponization of environmental laws.
Please pay attention to what Kamala Harris is doing here. She is using the language of ‘resilience’ to create a narrative that Pacific Palisades is too environmentally “toxic” to be rebuilt as it was before the fires occurred. Environmental laws will now be weaponized against… https://t.co/do4xkIIf5p
