According to a breaking news report from The Daily Caller, capitol police responded to a possible active shooter situation in the United States Capitol Complex —but no shots have been reported.

The alert was specific to the Senate office buildings north of the U.S. Capitol Building itself.

“Our officers are searching in and around the Senate Office Buildings in response to a concerning 911 call. Please stay away from the area as we are still investigating. We will continue to communicate with the public here,” the Capitol Police tweeted. “If you are inside the Senate Buildings, everyone inside should be sheltering in place,” they added.

Footage of the evacuation can be seen below:

From The New York Post:

Police asked everyone inside to shelter in place, although reports of gunshots were not confirmed.

The city’s Metro Police Department said the active shooter report “appears to be a bad call” and no shooter was located and there were no injuries, according to Politico.

The office building is just a few blocks from the courthouse where former President Donald Trump is scheduled to appear tomorrow in his latest federal indictment.
