JOE MACHIN: Build Back Better Plan is the Same $6 Trillion Bill from the Beginning

posted by Hannity Staff - 12.21.21

Senator Joe Manchin detailed this week why he chose to sink President Biden’s ‘Build Back Better’ proposal; saying the plan pushed by Democrats today is the same “$6 trillion bill from the beginning.”

“Five months ago, I told them this is a very far-reaching piece of legislation that changes many things about American society… Revamps the entire energy policies of our society… I told them this is very far reaching,” said Manchin.

“I’m concerned about inflation, I’m concerned about COVID. Today, inflation is the biggest threat we have right now,” he added. “We’re in a 50-50 Senate, you’re approaching legislation like you can do whatever you want.”

BREAKING NOW: Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin to ‘VOTE YES’ on Kavanaugh

posted by Hannity Staff - 10.05.18

Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin unveiled his decision regarding Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination Friday afternoon; saying he will vote “yes” on President Trump’s Supreme Court pick.

“I will vote to support Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh,” tweeted Manchin just seconds after GOP Sen. Susan Collins pledged her support to the potential Justice.

The support of Senators Manchin and Collins gives Judge Kavanaugh 51 likely votes in the United States Senate; enough to pass the 50-vote threshold and confirm the Justice to the United States Supreme Court.

The full Senate will vote as early as Saturday morning.

BREAKING NOW: Joe Manchin Calls $3.5 Trillion Spending Package ‘Fiscal Insanity’

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.30.21

Democratic Senator Joe Manchin released a scathing statement Wednesday night on his party’s $3.5 trillion ‘Build Back Better’ plan, asking fellow legislators “how much is enough?” after spending $5.4 trillion since last March.

“Respectfully, as I have said for months, I can’t support $3.5 trillion more in spending when we have already spent $5.4 trillion since last March. At some point, all of us, regardless of party must ask the simple question – how much is enough?” posted Manchin on his Senate website.

“What I have made clear to the President and Democratic leaders is that spending trillions more on new and expanded government programs, when we can’t even pay for the essential social programs, like Social Security and Medicare, is the definition of fiscal insanity. Suggesting that spending trillions more will not have an impact on inflation ignores the everyday reality that America’s families continue pay an unavoidable inflation tax. Proposing a historic expansion of social programs while ignoring the fact we are not in a recession and that millions of jobs remain open will only feed a dysfunction that could weaken our economic recovery. This is the shared reality we all now face, and it is this reality that must shape the future decisions that we, as elected leaders, must make,” he wrote.

“If there is one final lesson that will continue to guide me in this difficult debate ahead it is this: America is a great nation but great nations throughout history have been weakened by careless spending and bad policies. Now, more than ever, we must work together to avoid these fatal mistakes so that we may fulfill our greatest responsibility as elected leaders and pass on a better America to the next generation,” he concluded.
