Thursday night, President Joe Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden hosted the annual National Christmas tree lighting in President’s Park in the Ellipse of the White House. The event mostly went off without a hitch —but Joe was still called out for a few strange moments on social media.
First, in a jarring moment, Biden immediately went into the tree-lighting countdown after taking the stage.

Footage from the event also captured President Biden’s oversized teleprompter. Biden said the holidays are about remembering “we’re a great nation because we’re a good people. That’s what I see all across America, including tonight.”
“Let’s remember how blessed we are as Americans for the gift that is our nation,” Biden concluded.

Finally, Biden once again appeared to have trouble making his exit.
