New York Attorney General Letitia James has been subpoenaed by a grand jury convened by the Albany U.S. Attorney’s Office, part of a federal probe into her $454 million civil fraud case against President Trump, a source told The New York Post.
The Justice Department launched the grand jury after the FBI opened an investigation into the matter.
A second subpoena reportedly dealt with the AG’s own probe into the NRA, The New York Times first reported.
The well-placed source did not indicate whether the probe included recent claims of mortgage fraud by the AG on properties in Brooklyn and Virginia.
The investigation is in an early stage, but Fox News Digital has learned that James’s office received subpoenas for documents this week, including for information related to her civil fraud lawsuit against Trump.
James, a Democrat elected attorney general in 2018, has long been a Trump target. She brought successful civil fraud charges against him in 2022 and has played a key role in challenging his administration’s executive actions in court.
James launched her investigation into the Trump Organization shortly after taking office, ultimately securing a $454 million judgment against the former president and several company executives, including his two sons.
