'IS THIS JERRY SPRINGER?': Oversight Committee in Chaos as AOC, MTG, Crockett Exchange Barbs [WATCH]

“SNL couldn’t create a skit like this.”

During Thursday night’s House Oversight Committee hearing on whether to move forward with a contempt resolution against Attorney General Merrick Garland, Reps. Marjorie Taylor-Greene, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Jasmine Crockett got into a mud-slinging match worthy of Jerry Springer.

The hearing quickly got off rails after MTG brought up the daughter of the Manhattan judge presiding over former President Donald Trump’s hush money trial and then commented on Crockett’s eyelashes.

“I’d like to know if any of the Democrats on this committee are employing Judge [Juan] Merchan’s daughter,” Greene asked.

Crockett demanded that Greene explain “what that has to do with Merrick Garland,” and asked the Republican firebrand, “Do you know what we’re here for?”

I think you know what you’re here for,” Greene shot back. “I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you’re reading.”

That’s when the entire chamber fell into chaos as the ranking members tried to call order.

“That’s beneath even you, Ms. Greene!” Democratic ranking member Jamie Raskin (D-MD) interjected, as the chairman of the panel, Rep. James Comer (R-KY), repeatedly slammed his gavel and called for order.

AOC jumps to Crockett’s defense, only making matters worse.

“Jerry Springer” was trending on X in reference to the Oversight scrap shortly after.

Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz shared a clip of the exchange, saying “Looks like they’re having a totally normal one over in Oversight…”

Fellow Committee Member Lauren Boebert took a moment to make the Sogn of the Cross in a now-viral moment.
