Shocking footage went viral on X this week showing a large group of migrants arriving on La Jolla Beach in San Diego by boat. The group quickly runs off the beach and into the surrounding neighborhood.
From The Daily Mail:
More than 20 migrants were filmed storming the beach on Wednesday morning and disappearing into the southern California enclave, where homes go for a median price of $2.2million.
The footage shows the migrants arriving on the shore on some sort of boat, before they take off running into the neighborhood in San Diego, the largest city on the Mexican border.
More than 42,000 asylum seekers were released in San Diego from October through December 2023 – an average of 637 a day, as reported by The San Diego Union-Tribute. That number does not include migrants who cross illegally, like those seen landing on the La Jolla beach.
The county has already spent $3million caring for the asylum seekers, and has allocated another $3million.
