Controversial Congresswoman Ilhan Omar escalated her war-of-words with the White House Wednesday; viciously labeling the President’s supporters as “ignorant” of the real issues facing Americans every day.
Omar was speaking with the liberal podcast ‘Next Left’ when she was asked to comment on the current immigration debate in the country.
“There are agencies that run the resettlement program. This is a process that’s run through them. If you end that contract, it’s not that refugees are not going to be resettled, it’s that the state just doesn’t get informed,” Omar said. “And so the only leverage you have is that you are part of this contract and you can be part of the negotiations on how many people get resettled in your state.”
“And so it is not that they might not be knowledgeable about this, but they use it as a tool to stir up hate and division. And ignorance really is pervasive in many parts of this country. And as someone who was raised by educators, I really like to inform people about things that they might be ignorant to, willingly or unwillingly,” Omar continued.
The left-wing legislator made national headlines last month when she blamed Venezuela’s ongoing political and humanitarian crisis on the Trump administration and US policies.
“Just as in interventions past, those who oppose war are labeled supporters of dictators and haters of ‘freedom.’ We saw this playbook in Iraq. The situation in Venezuela is dire and the Trump Admin is making it worse. We must support diplomacy, not war,” she posted on social media.

Omar has routinely refused to condemn Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro; saying “democracy” must be followed and it’s “up to the people” to decide who runs the once-rich, oil-producing nation.

AOC ERUPTS: Ocasio-Cortez RIPS Dan Crenshaw, Claims He’s ‘Drumming Resentment’ Towards Rep. Omar
Controversial Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez slammed Rep. Dan Crenshaw on social media Thursday afternoon; accusing the GOP lawmaker of ‘drumming resentment’ towards Ilhan Omar.
“You refuse to cosponsor the 9/11 Victim’s Compensation Fund, yet have the audacity to drum resentment towards Ilhan w/completely out-of-context quotes,” posted Ocasio-Cortez. “In 2018, right-wing extremists were behind almost ALL US domestic terrorist killings. Why don’t you go do something about that?”
