Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee ripped Nancy Pelosi’s tone-deaf response to the national shutdown Wednesday; joking if President Trump packed her fridge with expensive ice cream she’d complain he “didn’t pick the right flavors.”
“The president’s doing exactly the right thing. I expect he’ll be criticized by the same people who criticize him for everything,” Huckabee said Wednesday on Fox & Friends. “But they’re going to criticize Donald Trump even if he personally restocked Nancy Pelosi $24,000 freezer with the finest ice cream that’s ever been created.”
“They’ll still say he didn’t pick the right flavors, and he didn’t bring hot fudge sauce,” he added.
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi bragged about her private stash of upscale ice cream on late-night television this week; showing off her stockpile of sweets as Americans wait in line at food banks across the country.
“Other people in our families go for other flavors, but we have some chocolate right here,” said Pelosi. “We have chocolate candy.”
Pelosi made similar comments moments later.
“We’re coping pretty well. I have my grandchildren from New York. They have to get up at 5 o’clock in the morning to do their classwork… It is a a wonderful opportunity for them that I wish all children would have,” said Pelosi from her kitchen.

Pelosi was left speechless Friday when asked why her party is opposing emergency relief for small businesses; launching an incoherent rant about Sen. Mitch McConnell and local hospitals.
“Can you explain to those small businesses? They now feel that they’re in limbo and don’t understand why you’d be refusing this money now?” asked a reporter from C-SPAN.
“Well…. the… um… It’s clear, to my understanding…. When we talk to McConnell, he says we should do some of that, but he says let’s see how the money out there is working for local hospitals before we do more… but let’s not see how things are working… with small businesses,” responded Pelosi.
