House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy called on his colleagues to remove Rep. Eric Swalwell from the Intelligence Committee due to his ongoing scandal surrounding a potential Chinese spy.
“The Intel committee is different than any other committee. It is the most difficult committee to get on. It’s only selected by the leaders of both parties. He got on as a sophomore. How could he do that? They were in the minority at the time, not very many seats. He got on as a sophomore and now, he says, that Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff knew of it. This is a national security threat,” McCarthy said.
“And now we have Eric Swalwell whose been swindled by the Chinese but what’s even more interesting here is why did he attack the American Director of Intelligence John Ratcliffe’s report, talking about the expansion of China spying throughout?…This man should not be in the Intel committee,” McCarthy continued. “He’s jeopardizing national security. What is being said in those meetings inside the SCIF that we don’t want other people to hear or listen? You can’t not, you can not take in your watch. You cannot take in your phone, but here, we have an individual, who Nancy Pelosi, this is the real question. When did Nancy Pelosi know of this and why did she maintain him on the committee?”

DEVELOPING: Dem Rep. Eric Swalwell Caught Up in Suspected China Spy Plot
Sean Hannity weighed-in Wednesday night on an explosive report linking Democrat Congressman Eric Swalwell to a Chinese spy; saying Democrats are refusing to hold him responsible.
“An explosive report is revealing Rep. Swalwell’s ties to a Chinese Spy… She reportedly helped place at least one intern in his office,” said Hannity.
“The Congressman’s office declined to comment. Democrats refuse to hold Swalwell accountable for blatant lies even after he spread the Russia hoax for years,” he added.

OF COURSE: Eric Swalwell Blames China Spy Scandal on… PRESIDENT TRUMP
Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell suggested this week that his escalating scandal surrounding a potential Chinese spy was intentionally leaked by the White House as political retribution.
“Axios reported Monday that the woman, known as both Fang Fang and Christine Fang, cultivated relationships with Swalwell and several other prominent California Democrats. She reportedly helped place an intern in his office and served as a donation bundler for his 2014 reelection campaign,” writes The Hill.

“I’ve been a critic of the president. I’ve spoken out against him. I was on both committees that worked to impeach him,” Swalwell told Politico. “The timing feels like that should be looked at.”
“What it appears though that this person — as the story reports — was unsuccessful in whatever they were trying to do,” he added. “But if intelligence officials are trying to weaponize someone’s cooperation, they are essentially seeking to do what this person was not able to do, which is to try and discredit someone.”
