From Fox News:
When asked how the presence of homeless tents and encampments in her neighborhood made her feel, one Seattle resident told Jones that it made her feel “sad” and “depressed.”
In one residential area of Seattle, tents filled parks and sports fields where young children would typically play. In the past week, there had been four incidents with homeless individuals and children in the neighborhood.
“There was a fellow who was taken out on a stretcher earlier this week with all the softball kids around,” said one resident in the report that aired Monday on “Fox & Friends.”
She said that parents would wake up early in the morning before children would head to the park in order to do a “sweep” for needles and other paraphernalia scattered across the park.
One resident said: “How is that ok? How do we get to a place where we think [homeless encampments] are normal for this part of life in Seattle?”
“Do you think it’s a safety issue?” Jones asked.
Another resident said that her teenager was “distressed” about the situation and said she would like to see stronger leadership from city officials on solving the crisis, despite not being “hopeful” that the problem would be solved anytime soon.

ANARCHY in THE USA: DOJ Designates NYC, Seattle, Portland as ‘Anarchist’ Zones that ‘Permit Violence’
The Department of Justice fired a warning shot at the most liberal cities in America Monday morning; designating New York City, Seattle, and Portland as “anarchist jurisdictions” that “permit violence” against property.
“In a statement, the agency hit leaders of the three cities for rejecting federal law enforcement assistance in quelling protests while pointing to ongoing demonstrations that have continued for weeks over the treatment of Black Americans by law enforcement,” reports The Hill.
New York City “has permitted violence and destruction of property to persist and have refused to undertake reasonable measures to counteract criminal activities,” leading to its designation as an “anarchist jurisdiction,” writes the DOJ.
“Rather than idle words, the designation has potential financial consequences. President Trump issued a memo earlier this month directing the DOJ to identify jurisdictions that, in its view, were not enforcing the law appropriately. Designated cities could lose their federal funding,” reports NBC New York.
“I believe the President is fundamentally a bully, which I’ve said too many times, and I’ve known him very well for a very long period of time. It doesn’t work in New York because you can’t bully New Yorkers. We just don’t get bullied,” Gov. Andrew Cuomo said.
ANARCHY, SEATTLE: Another ‘CHAZ’ Shooting Leaves 1 Person Dead, 1 in Critical Condition
Another shooting in Seattle’s ‘Autonomous Zone’ left one person dead and another in critical condition over the weekend; raising new questions over safety and security in a major American city.
“The shooting victim who arrived at the hospital at 3:30 a.m. from the CHOP area on Capitol Hill in Seattle has unfortunately died, Susan Gregg, a hospital spokeswoman, told Fox News. He was transported to the hospital via Seattle Fire Department medics,” reports Fox News.
“Officers investigating a shooting near 12 Ave/Pike Street. Reports of two people injured. More information when available,” confirmed the Police Department.
“Not every 9-1-1 call requires a police officer with a gun. That’s why Chief Best and @SeattlePD are conducting a deep review of SPD’s budget and assessing what functions could be moved to other departments or be removed entirely,” posted the Mayor on social media.
