Failed Florida gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum sparked fresh speculation of a potential 2020 run for the White House Tuesday; addressing 300 high-powered Democratic donors in the nation’s capital.
“Florida Democrat Andrew Gillum is set to address top Democratic Party donors gathered in Washington amid speculation he’s considering a 2020 presidential bid,” writes NBC News. “Party officials confirm Gillum is the surprise speaker at a closed gathering of about 300 donors huddling Tuesday in a Washington hotel.”
Gillum was defeated in November by Republican Ron DeSantis, but is widely regarded as a future star among Democratic politicians; exciting the liberal base of the party.
“Despite his loss in the governor’s race to Republican Ron DeSantis, Gillum is among the young Democratic Party liberals who excited party activists nationally,” adds NBC.

“You whip ’em up. The poor, the middle income. You have to whip them up into a frenzy in order for them to vote,” they added.
