HELL FREEZES OVER: NY Times Editorial Board TRASHES De Blasio, Democrats for Amazon Disaster

posted by Hannity Staff - 2.15.19

The left-leaning New York Times Editorial Board utterly unloaded on NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio and other Democrats Friday for Amazon’s decision to abandon their plans for a regional headquarters; calling their actions a total “embarrassment.”

“This embarrassment to the city presents a painful lesson in how bumper-sticker slogans and the hubris of elected — and corporate — officials can create losers on all sides,” the Editorial Board wrote.

“Elected officials who identify as progressive painted Amazon as a rapacious engine of inequality,” they added. “They missed an opportunity to try to get the company to help address housing and infrastructure problems that the development, for all its benefits, would exacerbate.”

“You have to be tough to make it in New York City,” said De Blasio following Amazon’s announcement.

“What a strange thing for the mayor to take pride in. It’s certainly true that you have to be tough these days. But that’s because the subways don’t work, the streets are gridlocked, the housing is unaffordable, the shelters are overcrowded, and the schools are segregated and often inadequate,” mocked the editorial board.

AMAZON VS AOC: Tech Giant SLAMS Cortez, Says Couldn’t Work In This 'Environment’

posted by Hannity Staff - 2.15.19

Tech giant Amazon lashed-out at Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Friday; blasting the self-described Democratic-Socialist after announcing their plans to abandon its New York City headquarters.

“If you talk to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, it’s ‘Never Amazon,'” said Jodi Seth, the head of the policy communications for Amazon. “If you talk to [New York City Councilman Jimmy] Van Bramer, it’s unions.”

“It was that the environment over the course of the past three months had not got any better. There were some local and state elected officials who refused to meet with Amazon and criticized us day in and day out about the plan,” she added.

Cortez praised Amazon’s decision to abandon their NYC proposal, saying “Anything is possible: today was the day a group of dedicated, everyday New Yorkers & their neighbors defeated Amazon’s corporate greed, its worker exploitation, and the power of the richest man in the world.”

CUOMO EXPLODES: NY Gov. TRASHES ‘Politicians’ and Their ‘Narrow Interests’ for Amazon Disaster

posted by Hannity Staff - 2.14.19

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo unloaded on a “small group of politicians” and their “narrow political interests” Thursday after Amazon confirmed they were withdrawing plans to build a massive headquarters in New York City.

“A small group politicians put their own narrow political interests above their community…The New York State Senate has done tremendous damage. They should be held accountable for this lost economic opportunity,” said Cuomo.

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez -who represents a section of New York City- hailed the decision; calling Amazon’s sudden withdrawal from the region a success for “everyday” people.
