HEAD CASE?: AOC Campaign Cash To Psychiatrist Triggers Watchdog Complaint: Report

posted by Hannity Staff - 3.30.26

According to a Fox News report, a watchdog group has filed a federal complaint alleging Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) improperly used campaign funds to pay a Boston-area psychiatrist nearly $19,000 for services labeled as “leadership training and consulting.”

The National Legal and Policy Center submitted the March 27 complaint to the Federal Election Commission and the Office of Congressional Conduct, requesting an investigation into three payments made in 2025 totaling $18,725.

According to the filing, AOC’s campaign paid Dr. Brian W. Boyle — described as an interventional psychiatrist specializing in depression, PTSD and anxiety — $11,550 on March 10, $2,800 on May 15, and $4,375 on Oct. 1.

The payments were disclosed as “leadership training and consulting.”

But the complaint alleges those descriptions may not reflect the true nature of the services.

“NLPC alleges that AOC’s expenditure of almost $19,000… was expended instead for personal psychiatric services provided to AOC or members of her campaign staff,” NLPC counsel Paul Kamenar wrote.

The group further claims the expenses may have been misreported to federal regulators and is urging authorities to determine whether the payments violated campaign finance rules, which generally prohibit the use of campaign funds for personal expenses.

The complaint also argues that Dr. Boyle does not publicly advertise leadership consulting services for political campaigns, raising additional questions about how the payments were categorized.

As of now, the allegations remain unproven. There has been no public finding of wrongdoing, and neither AOC’s campaign nor Boyle had responded to requests for comment at the time of the filing, according to the complaint.
