During Thursday’s Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing, Missouri Senator Josh Hawley (R) absolutely shredded FBI Director Christopher Wray for skipping out on a previous Senate hearing to go on a family vacation using a government jet.
“Why did FBI Director Chris Wray refuse to answer Senators’ questions & run out of an oversight hearing early? Because he had to get to vacation in the Adirondacks. On a government jet,” Hawley wrote in a tweet in which he shared a clip of Thursday’s hearing.

Many Republicans are calling on Wray —and AG Merrick Garland to resign for dereliction of duty, abuses of power, and more.
“Christopher Wray and Merrick Garland MUST be removed from their powerful positions,” Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia tweeted. “Republicans can not allow this abuse of power to stand. Impeach!!”
“The Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the stewardship of Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland, is broken,” Representative Jim Jordan of Ohio tweeted.
Meanwhile, Representative Andy Biggs of Arizona tweeted: “The FBI & DOJ will not be given a free pass.”
