Former chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee Chuck Grassley confirmed Tuesday he believes the special counsel is rapidly wrapping-up his ongoing probe into Russian-Collusion; saying he believes lawmakers will see Robert Mueller’s report “within a month.”
Grassley was speaking with radio host Hugh Hewitt this week when he was asked if he expected Mueller to release his months-long investigation into allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
“Within a month, if we see it,” Grassley said.
Grassley’s comments echo Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker’s previous statement regarding the Mueller probe; telling reporters, “Right now the investigation is, I think, close to being completed.”

GOP Rep Demands Congressional Hearings Over Mueller's Liberal 'Hit Team'
Texas Congressman Brian Babin sent a strongly worded letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee and the House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, demanding Congressional leaders convene a public hearing to debate Robert Mueller’s investigation of Russian meddling and the democrat-leaning legal team he’s assembled.
Babin sent the letter to Sen. Chuck Grassley and Rep. Bob Goodlatte, calling for free and open discussion over Mueller and his legal team, many of whom had previously donated thousands of dollars to prominent democrats such as Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.
“Those who are nominated to serve in the highest offices of public trust must not only be confirmed by the Senate, but are expected to make regular appearances before their committees of jurisdiction in both chambers to answer questions,” wrote Babin. “Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III and his team of lawyers, who have sweeping authority and an open-ended mission, have afforded Congress and the public no such opportunity.”
“This investigation has the potential to drag on for months or even years, incurring millions of dollars of expenses,” he added. “Furthermore, it has already raised serious questions, as reports have shed light on Mr. Mueller’s longtime association with former FBI Director, James Comey, and sizeable campaign donations to Democratic politicians and causes by several members of the Special Counsel team.”
Representative Babin’s letter comes as prominent republicans openly call for Robert Mueller to recuse himself from the ongoing investigation over numerous conflicts of interest, such as his personal relationship with former FBI director James Comey and his hiring of democrat-leaning lawyers.
“We respectfully request that one or both of the Judiciary Committees immediately convene a public and open hearing or series of hearings to bring Mr. Mueller and his team out of the shadows and into the public square,” writes Babin.

GRASSLEY UNCHAINED: Chuck Grassley DEMANDS FBI’s McCabe ‘Be Replaced’
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley didn’t mince words while commenting on the numerous scandals surrounding Robert Mueller’s Russia-Trump investigation, saying FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe “out to be replaced.”
Grassley was speaking with Bloomberg News when he made the surprise demand, blasting McCabe and other FBI officials over recent reports of widespread anti-Trump bias throughout the agency.
“Trump ought to stay out of it,” Grassley said. “I think it’s a Christopher Wray job.”
“[McCabe] oughta be replaced. And I’ve said that before and I’ve said it to people who can do it,” he added.
McCabe will appear before the House Intelligence Committee this week, answering questions over his handling of special counsel Robert Mueller’s months-long investigation into the 2016 election.
The FBI and DOJ were thrust into the national spotlight earlier this month, after a bombshell report showed senior FBI agents exchanging blatantly anti-Trump text messages.
