Former Vice President and climate-change crusader Al Gore unveiled his plan this week to host a 24-hour “reality” broadcast to highlight mankind’s impact on the planet; saying the “climate crisis” is not “an abstract issue.”
The global warming activist and filmmaker released an official statement Tuesday; saying the ’24 Hours of Reality: Protect our Planet, Protect Ourselves’ broadcast will be seen in 125 countries and streamed live.
“Our health depends on the health of the planet,” said the press release. “The climate crisis is not an abstract issue; it has direct impacts on us and the people we love the most. I’m looking forward to exploring the climate and health connection on this year’s 24 Hours broadcast and to discussing how we can take bold and ambitious action to ensure that future generations can live long, healthy lives full of opportunity and promise.”
The television special is scheduled to air Monday, December 3rd.
