Ghislaine Maxwell, right hand to pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, has been hit with a 20-year prison sentence for her role in the sex-trafficking of teenage girls; Maxwell was convicted after trial in December, the sentencing was Tuesday.
According to Fox News, before the sentence was handed down, Maxwell addressed the court. “I believe that Jeffrey Epstein was a manipulative, cunning and controlling man who lived a profoundly compartmentalized life and filled all of those in his orbit.”
Epstein, a convicted pedophile, killed himself in his jail cell back in 2019.
“I am sorry for the pain that you experienced,” Maxwell said. “I hope my conviction and harsh incarceration brings you closure,” she said to the victims sitting in the gallery.
US District Judge Alison Nathan said the 20-year sentence was “sufficient and no graver than necessary.”
