posted by Hannity Staff - 1.03.25

And it only took two rounds…

Louisiana Rep. Mike Johnson (R) was re-elected as House Speaker on Friday after two rounds of voting and two GOP holdouts changing their votes.

Reps. Ralph Norman (R-SC) and Keith Self (R-TX) initially voted for other candidates. Ultimately, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) was the sole no-vote for the GOP.

Johnson said he made no concessions to flip the holdout votes.

Watch the moment below:

President-elect Donald Trump, who officially endorsed Johnson this week, congratulated him in a post on TRUTH Social, saying “Congratulations to Speaker Mike Johnson for receiving an unprecedented Vote of Confidence in Congress. Mike will be a Great Speaker, and our Country will be the beneficiary. The People of America have waited four years for Common Sense, Strength, and Leadership. They’ll get it now, and America will be greater than ever before!”
