Hurricane Florence is slowly picking up steam as it makes its way towards the east coast of the United States, with US officials saying the massive storm is generating waves as high as 80 feet tall.
“Hurricane Florence’s potentially devastating winds are generating enormous waves as high as 83 feet as it continues to make its way toward the East Coast and insurers predict it will become the costliest such storm to ever hit the continental U.S.,” writes Fox News.

MEDIA MELTDOWN: Washington Post Blames Hurricane Florence on… DONALD TRUMP
As the nation prepares to endure yet another devastating hurricane heading towards the east coast of the United States, the Washington Post is already blaming the dangerous storm on President Donald Trump.
The Washington Post Editorial Board published a scathing article Tuesday, claiming the Commander-in-Chief was “complicit” in Hurricane Florence’s potential damage because of his political stance on climate change.
“YET AGAIN, a massive hurricane feeding off unusually warm ocean water has the potential to stall over heavily populated areas, menacing millions of people,” writes the Post.
“When it comes to extreme weather, Mr. Trump is complicit. He plays down humans’ role in increasing the risks, and he continues to dismantle efforts to address those risks. It is hard to attribute any single weather event to climate change. But there is no reasonable doubt that humans are priming the Earth’s systems to produce disasters,” adds the article.
