Vermont Senator and potential 2020 presidential candidate Bernie Sanders warned the nation of the threats posed by “acid rain” and the “destruction of the o-zone layer” back in 1989, saying the country faced a pressing “existential crisis.”
“Climate change is the existential crisis of our time. Why isn’t this something we talk about on the news every day?” posted Sanders on social media.

“Today we talk about justice, today we talk about racism. I must tell you it gives me no pleasure to tell you that we now have a President of the United States who is a racist,” said Sanders.
“What a president is supposed to do is bring us together. We have a president intentionally, purposely trying to divide us up by the color of our skin, by our gender, by the country we came from, by our religion,” he added.
