FAR-LEFT LOSES: AOC-Backed Sanders Ally Defeated in Ohio Primary Race

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.04.21

Nina Turner, endorsed by both Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders, was defeated Tuesday night in Ohio to more moderate candidate Shontel Brown; raising new questions over the direction of the Democratic Party.

Brown had support from more than 50% of voters while Turner garnered 44%.

“On this night, we will not cross the river,” Turner said.

Turner blamed her defeat on “money.”

“I am going to work hard to ensure that something like this never happens to a progressive candidate again,” she said. “We didn’t lose this race — the evil money manipulated and maligned this election.”

“Democratic voters like the Democratic Party. Progressives need to show that we support the Democratic Party living up to it’s true values, not trying to tear it down,” said Sean McElwee, founder of polling firm Data for Progress. “Progressives also need to invest more in block and tackle campaign infrastructure. We need to be prepared to go dollar for dollar with DMFI on the airwaves.”

The loss comes weeks after another AOC-backed candidate was defeated in New York City’s Mayoral Primary.

“The victory by Eric Adams, a former police captain, in New York City’s Democratic primary for mayor could be an indicator that the congresswoman’s sway – in her own city – is exaggerated. Fox News reached out to Ocasio-Cortez’s office about whether the results of the mayoral race could impact any future Senate plans but they did not immediately respond,” reports Fox News.

“In the first round of voting in the primary, Ocasio-Cortez endorsed progressive candidate Maya Wiley and ranked Scott Stringer as her second choice. Neither candidate even advanced to the final round, where Adams faced off against Kathryn Garcia in a close contest,” adds Fox.

AOC ERUPTS: Far-Left Democrat Says Trump Voters Have ‘Drank the Poison of White Supremacy’

Controversial Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez escalated her war-of-words with Republican voters this week; saying supporters of the President have “drunk the poison of White Supremacy.”

“A lot of people have drank the poison of white supremacy, and that’s what Donald Trump represents,” said AOC.

“Just is, and if, at this point, you haven’t recognized that and you don’t see it, maybe you have a lot of work to do, too,” she added.

AOC ERUPTS: Ocasio-Cortez Backs Boycott of NY POST Over 9/11 Front Page

posted by Hannity Staff - 4.17.19

Embattled Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez escalated her war-of-words with the NY Post this week; supporting a national boycott against her hometown paper after they posted a fierce response to Rep. Ilhan Omar’s 9/11 remarks.

“While President Trump repeatedly attacks the New York Times and other purveyors of ‘fake news,’ New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is targeting her own media foe: the New York Post,” reports Yahoo News.

“In a Sunday interview with the Yahoo News podcast ‘Skullduggery,’ the freshman New York congresswoman explained why she is endorsing a boycott of the paper organized by local Yemeni-American bodega owners, calling the Post’s attack on her friend Rep. Ilhan Omar ‘beyond the pale,’” adds the author.
