Indicted New York Attorney General Letitia James has reportedly housed her “fugitive” relative in her Virginia home for the past five years.
According to reports, James’ grandniece, Nakia Thompson, has been living with her three children in the attorney general’s three-bedroom property in Norfolk since 2020.
Court documents obtained by the Daily Mail reveal that Thompson is officially listed as an “absconder” wanted by authorities in Forsyth County, North Carolina, for failing to complete her probation.
“Ms. Thompson was sentenced to probation for misdemeanor convictions for assault and battery and trespassing, and has willfully avoided probation supervision,” Keith Acree of the North Carolina Department of Corrections told the Daily Mail.
“An absconder is considered a fugitive. Thompson faces arrest if she is located in North Carolina,” Acree added, noting that her offenses are considered low-level and therefore “non-extraditable.”
