Florida Governor Ron DeSantis told reporters on Thursday that the reason the Sunshine State’s economy is so strong is that people are fleeing “dumpster fire states” to enjoy a little Florida freedom.
“You look at the demand in Florida, part of the reason is people are trying to get the hell out of these dumpster fire states that have just done so poorly,” DeSantis said. “So everyone is trying to figure out how to go into Florida.”
And he’s not wrong. According to the Washington Free Beacon, “Americans are fleeing blue states such as California, Illinois, and New York at a rapid clip. Meanwhile, red states such as Florida, Arizona, and Texas have experienced an influx of domestic migration as their populations continue to boom.”
