Squad member Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) is in the hot seat for what Twitter users are calling the “dumbest tweet in history” —and that’s really saying something.
Omar shared a climate tweet on Monday, claiming that “The earth just broke the record for the hottest day in 120,000 years. In fact, we broke in [sic] on three separate days. National climate emergency now.”
Omar was fact-checked by community notes.
“It is not possible to have accurately measured the daily temperature dating back 120,000 years, so this tweet should not be presented as fact. NASA climate scientists recognize 1880 as the start of modern climate records.”

Omar was roasted for her claim, with many pointing out how ridiculous it was.

It’s not even the hottest day in the last week.
