DITCHING THE DONKEY: Airbnb Boss Says He Left the Democratic Party Over Border Crisis Botch [WATCH]

The border was a wake-up call for common-sense Democrats…

Airbnb co-founder Joe Gebbia says he has broken with the Democratic Party and is now backing President Trump, pointing to the border crisis as the turning point in his politics.

A lifelong Democrat, Gebbia said his shift began around 2021 after witnessing what he called “a lack of immigration enforcement” under President Joe Biden.

“I remember just being like, ‘Holy cow, this is crazy,’” Gebbia told The Katie Miller Podcast on Monday. “This is not right, this is a real problem and there’s no reason why we shouldn’t be enforcing the laws of our country and our border.”

After consulting with Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, Gebbia said he “started to pull on that thread” and reevaluated his party loyalties.

“I eventually came to the point where I don’t think I can support a political party that wants to have an open border, that lets in criminals and dangerous people into our country. That’s just not something I can get behind,” he said.

Gebbia credited friendships with Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Elon Musk as further influences in his political shift.

“I’ve been on my journey. Everyone’s been on a journey,” he said, praising Kennedy as “somebody who just cares so much about the health of our nation” and Musk as a reformer willing to “right-size the ship.”

In February, Gebbia volunteered with Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, focusing on reforms to the federal employee retirement process.
