'DISSOLVE THIS MONSTROSITY': Conservatives Blast Biden's New Disinformation Board, Call it 'Orwellian'

If you’re wondering why ‘Ministry of Truth’ is trending on Twitter —here’s your answer.

The Biden Administration has announced that a ‘Disinformation Governance Board’ is being established to combat ‘disinformation’ in the 2022 midterms. The timing of this announcement seems incredibly suspicious considering its proximity to Elon Musk’s Twitter takeover. Conservative voices blasted the new board on Twitter, many comparing it to the ‘Ministry of Truth’ from the book 1984; others similarly calling it “Orwellian” and “dystopian.”

Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) is calling for the board to be dissolved immediately:

“The Administration that activated the FBI against parents at school board meetings now has created a government Disinformation Board to monitor all Americans’ speech. It’s a disgrace. Joe Biden & Secretary Mayorkas: dissolve this monstrosity immediately,” Hawley said on Twitter.

“Is there anything more dystopian than a Disinformation Governance Board run by the federal government?” Florida Republican Congressional Candidate Dr. Willie J. Montague tweeted, adding later that the board is “Orwellian.”

“They didn’t need a ‘Disinformation Governance Board’ until @elonmusk threatened their control over the narrative,” Texas Republican Congressman Troy Nehls tweeted.

“When I get to the Senate I’ll defund the Biden Administration’s Ministry of Truth. This is downright scary,” said Senate candidate J.D. Vance.

“…So to make sure there are no abuses of power we are going to create a hyper-partisan government controlled Ministry of Truth!!!” said Donald Trump Jr.
