US Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is testifying in front of the US Senate Appropriations Committee on Wednesday —but he isn’t providing many answers to the most pressing questions.
In multiple exchanges with Senators on the committee, Mayorkas has been either unwilling to answer the questions or dodges them outright. The DHS Secretary is unable to provide details on how many illegal migrants encountered at the border are in still the country, and he can’t say where migrants on the terror watchlist are currently being detained (or if they are at all!).
