DEVELOPING: Michael Cohen Sentenced to 3 Years in Prison After Pleading Guilty to Multiple Charges

posted by Hannity Staff - 12.12.18

Michael Cohen -former attorney to President Trump- was sentenced to three years in prison Wednesday after pleading guilty to several charges in a Manhattan courtroom, reports Fox News.

Cohen stood before US District Judge William Pauley III as he was sentenced to 36 months of incarceration for “lying to Congress,” tax evasion, and campaign finance violations, and must turn himself over to authorities on March 6th.

Addressing the court, Cohen said he takes “full responsibility for each act… The sooner I am sentenced, the sooner I can return to my family.”

“In the New York case, prosecutors accused Cohen of a years-long ‘tax evasion scheme’ to avoid paying federal income taxes on more than $4 million made through a number of ventures, including through his ownership of taxi medallions, his selling of real estate in Florida and his consulting work for other clients,” writes Fox News.

COHEN STRIKES A DEAL: Trump’s Former Attorney to Plead Guilty to Financial Fraud

posted by Hannity Staff - 8.21.18

President Trump’s former personal attorney is expected to strike a deal with federal prosecutors and plead guilty as early as Tuesday afternoon, Fox News has learned.

Inside sources say Michael Cohen’s decision “moved swiftly” as investigators probed possible charges of campaign finance abuse, bank fraud, and other violations.

According to the New York Times, the deal “does not involve a cooperation agreement with prosecutors.”

“Cohen is scheduled to appear at a New York federal court hearing at 4 p.m. ET. The Associated Press reports that he will plead guilty to charges including campaign finance violations, bank fraud and tax evasion,” writes Fox.

“Cohen’s offices were raided in April by federal investigators looking into his financial dealings,” adds the site.

JARRETT: Cohen Guilty Plea DOES NOTHING to Show Wrongdoing by Trump

posted by Hannity Staff - 11.30.18

Fox News’ Gregg Jarrett threw cold-water on the mainstream media’s full-fledged frenzy surrounding Michael Cohen’s guilty plea Thursday, saying his new deal with Robert Mueller does “absolutely nothing” to show any wrongdoing by the President.

“President Trump’s disgraced former personal lawyer Michael Cohen’s guilty plea to lying to Congress about a possible Trump Organization real estate project in Moscow that never materialized is not worth much – except to Cohen,” writes Jarrett.

“Before his newest guilty plea Thursday, Cohen – already a confessed liar and criminal – pleaded guilty in August to violating campaign finance laws, multiple counts of tax evasion and bank fraud dealing with his personal finances,” he adds.

“The double standard should be obvious to all. If you’re a government official without ties to Donald Trump, you can lie, make mistakes or fail to remember things correctly and face no legal consequences. But if you’re a private citizen – especially if you’re connected to Trump – you’ll be threatened with prosecution and the prospect of spending time behind bars,” writes Jarrett.
