Earlier this week, Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) told USF students to ditch their masks before a press event on cybersecurity —and the left had a meltdown.
“You do not have to wear those masks. Please take them off. Honestly, it’s not doing anything. We’ve gotta stop with this Covid theater,” DeSantis said to a laughing audience. “So if you wanna wear it, fine, but this is ridiculous.”
“What a punk a– move to get loud with kids who aren’t in a position to tell you to f–k off,” CNN+ host Jemele Hill wrote.
Far-left MSNBC host Joy Reid asked, “If Florida is so “free,” why does @GovRonDeSantisthink he has the right to bully and give orders to other people’s kids?”
“I would have had to instruct my kids that DeSantis is one of those exceptions to treating adults with respect. They would have had my permission to tell him to f—k off and to keep their masks right whew they were,” Reid wrote in a separate tweet.
The Miami Herald declared, “In rant against students wearing masks, DeSantis channels his inner Karen,” in a column by the editorial board that referenced the derogatory term typically used to describe White women who appear agitated. Actor Jon Cryer claimed, “If he did this to my kid, I’d punch him in the face.”
Well, Team DeSantis fired back Thursday in a short video the exposes the left’s love of masking everyone but themselves. “The political science show cannot go on. It’s curtain call for COVID theater,” DeSantis tweeted along with the video.
