DEMS DISTRACT: Jerry Nadler Says House Must Fix ‘Damage to Our Democracy’ Caused by Donald Trump

posted by Hannity Staff - 12.10.21

Congressman Jerry Nadler continued his anti-Trump crusade Friday despite the 45th President of the United States leaving office nearly one year ago; saying Congress must “repair the damage” caused by the previous administration.

“The House took a major step today in repairing the damage to our democracy, brought by the Trump administration,” said Nadler. “Time and time again, we saw a President who placed his personal interests against the national interest.”

Nadler’s comments come the same day as a new economic report revealed the highest rate of inflation since 1982.

“Inflation accelerated at its fastest pace since 1982 in November, the Labor Department said Friday, putting pressure on the economic recovery and raising the stakes for the Federal Reserve,” reports CNBC.

“The consumer price index, which measures the cost of a wide-ranging basket of goods and services, rose 0.8% for the month, good for a 6.8% pace on a year over year basis and the fastest rate since June 1982,” adds the financial news outlet.

Energy prices have risen 33% since Election Day 2020. Gas prices are also up 58%.

'FANTASY ISLAND': Doug Collins RIPS Nadler to His Face, Says Dems ‘Lost in Impeachment Oz’

posted by Hannity Staff - 9.12.19

GOP Rep. Doug Collins slammed Congressman Jerrold Nadler during fiery hearings on Capitol Hill Thursday; saying House Democrats are “lost in impeachment Oz” and are unable to “find their way out of the mess.”

“Today’s ambiguity is a product of the chairman’s own making because there is an easy way to know exactly whether this committee is in #impeachment proceedings: It’s called a vote. A vote of the full House of Representatives,” posted Collins on social media.

“Democrats followed the yellow brick road, and now they’re fully lost in impeachment Oz—try as they might, they can’t find their way out of the mess they’ve made because they think ‘words don’t matter,’” he added.

House Democrats voted Thursday to officially unveil their “guidelines” surrounding an investigation into whether they will recommend filing articles of impeachment against President Trump.

The proposal left most lawmakers -including many Democrats- confused and bewildered as to what the resolution actually means.

“Some call this process an impeachment inquiry. Some call it an impeachment investigation. There is no legal difference between these terms, and I no longer care to argue about the nomenclature,” Nadler said as he opened the hearing. “But let me clear up any remaining doubt: The conduct under investigation poses a threat to our democracy. We have an obligation to respond to this threat. And we are doing so.”

GOP Rep. Doug Collins slammed Nadler’s inquiry, saying his Committee has “become a giant Instagram filter … it’s put in there to look like something, but it’s really not.”

“My colleagues know very well they don’t have the votes to authorize impeachment proceedings on the House floor, but they want to impeach the president anyway,” Collins said. “So, they are pretending to initiate impeachment.”

“Under these procedures, when we have finished these hearings and considered as much evidence we are able to gather, we will decide whether to refer articles of impeachment to the House floor,” Nadler said in his opening statement.

BREAKING NOW: House Dems Revolt Against Nadler’s Committee, Vote to Hold Barr ‘In Civil Contempt’

posted by Hannity Staff - 6.11.19

House Democrats openly rebuked their own Judiciary Committee Tuesday; voting to hold the Attorney General in “civil contempt” hours after Chair Jerrold Nadler backed-away from a formal vote after receiving new information from the Department of Justice.

“In a party-line 229-191 vote, House Democrats on Tuesday passed a civil enforcement resolution that effectively holds Attorney General William Barr and former White House counsel Don McGahn in contempt of Congress — just a day after a key Democrat-led committee postponed its own contempt vote and said the Justice Department was cooperating with its investigation,” reports Fox News.

“The whiplash of legislative action infuriated House Republicans, who said Democrats were violating committee rules and that federal law and executive privilege prevented Barr and McGahn from turning over all the requested documents. The ranking member of the House Judiciary Committee, Rep. Doug Collins, accused his colleagues of seeking a ‘re-do’ of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation for cynical political gain,” adds the article.

Rep. Jerrold Nadler confirmed Monday that the House Judiciary Committee will “press pause” on its efforts to hold Attorney General William Barr in Contempt of Congress.

“House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler announced Monday that he plans to hit pause on efforts to hold Attorney General Bill Barr in contempt, after reaching a deal with the Justice Department for access to evidence related to former Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia report,” reports Fox News.

Nadler’s office released a written statement hours after making an agreement with the DOJ to review more details of the Mueller report.

“I am pleased to announce that the Department of Justice has agreed to begin complying with our committee’s subpoena by opening Robert Mueller’s most important files to us, providing us with key evidence that the Special Counsel used to assess whether the President and others obstructed justice or were engaged in other misconduct,” Nadler said. “These documents will allow us to perform our constitutional duties and decide how to respond to the allegations laid out against the President by the Special Counsel.”

Just last week, Nadler refused to back-down from his renewed calls for more investigations into the Trump administration; asserting Mueller’s report had evidence of “multiple crimes.”

“We’re investigating all of the things we would investigate, frankly, in an impeachment inquiry. We are starting with the Mueller report which shows ample evidence of multiple crimes of obstruction of justice and abuse of power. We will have testimony about that,” said Nadler.

“It may very well come to a formal impeachment inquiry, we will see,” he added.
